college atheletes doing what they know best |
reasons why college athletes should not be paid
- Income generators- One of the misperceptions of this subject is that all football and basketball programs are extremely profitable. Any football program is going to be expensive when you factor in facilities, equipment and travel.
- Not enough- Spurrier is proposing that athletes should be given somewhere in the neighborhood of $3,500 to $4,000 per year.
College is suppose to be a place where the students are taught not payed for their services. Most of the expenses the college pays for it example the kits and the only time these athletes use their own money is when they pay for transport but not always. students come up with ways to raise funds.

I think that maybe they should be given a little amount for personal purposes to show that they are also contributing to their colleges because their colleges will be benefit a lot from the players’ hard works.
ReplyDeleteWell i personally think and beleive that they must be paid. They are being perceived as ambassadors of their respective institutions, baring in mind that these institutions have sponsorships and besides the athletes might be the difference needed in their homes. We need to groom these yooung talents as early as possible and that monitored finacial assistance can be great motivation...@MokD21
ReplyDeleteColleges shouls also support thier athletes financial and also make sure that they succed
ReplyDeletein a way they are getting experience by playing at varsity,so if they want to do it professionaly they would have gained something.
DeleteI believe that it's better a college student not get paid but rather they get free schooling for the time they are attending and the money they would of been getting be but towards their trusfunds for them to get paid while they have acedemics to worry about can blure their vision
ReplyDeleteI think it's better if they don't get paid because it's not their full-time job. If it was their full-time job and they didn't have school to get to then I would say that they get paid. Until they take their sport as a career then they shouldn't be paid.
ReplyDeletei think that the should be paid because at the end of the day if we do not pay them it will look loke expoitation
ReplyDeletei don't think it will ,they doing it because they love it just like in primary school where kids take part in debating, netball those kind of things.
DeleteI really dont think its fair if they dont get any reward, people work more hard if they know they will get some kind of reward no matter what kind of reward is it.
ReplyDeletethey do get a reward the schoolarship and other things
Deleteyes they should not be paid because they are not yet professional and they are doing it fo the sake of fun and towards perfection, but it is important fro them to get something even if it can be free tickets to the profesional athlets/a change to interview other profesional athlets/ any thing which can motivate them
ReplyDeleteexactly ,when they started it was all about sport.
Deletei don't think they should be paid because the it is not what they agreed to universities have sports for those interested in sports not to be professionals
ReplyDeletei agree
Deletedef yes .they work haed for the bnefit of the shool it is only logical
ReplyDeletei personaly think that they should not be payed in form of cash ,for example they getting schoolarships.cash might reduce their performance in a way because since they will be getting payed the varsity will be expecting more and if they don't deliver they might get fustrated eventually that will also affect their academics.
ReplyDeletei think they should be paid because department of sports allocate certain amount for sports and recreation
